New sales & marketing head at ENL Group
Electronic Navigation Ltd (ENL) has announced the expansion of the company’s senior management with the appointment of Richard Bowe as Head of Sales & Marketing for ENL Group
The role is a newly created position and will see Mr Bowe overseeing ENL’s domestic and commercial markets of Furuno in New Zealand, while also managing WASSP’s international sales & marketing strategy for their multibeam sounder products.
Originally from Christchurch, New Zealand, Mr Bowe holds a bachelor’s degree in Sales and Marketing Management, and previously worked for 23 years with Fisher & Paykel Appliances (F&P) an iconic New Zealand technology and electronics company.
During his career Richard has held senior international management roles in leading organisations such as F&P / Newell Brands and ACCO Brands, across New Zealand, Australia, USA, and the UK markets.
ENL’s Managing Director, Gareth Hodson, says Mr Bowe’s appointment will further strengthen ENL’s domestic position in the New Zealand market as continuing to further establish them as the international leader in multibeam sonar technology with its product WASSP.
“Thanks to our experienced and current international sales team, WASSP is the market leader in multibeam sonar technology. Richard’s experience in international sales and marketing will assist in building further growth and momentum for our products,” said Mr Hodson.
“His proven track record in transforming exceptional technology into outstanding business makes him the perfect fit for ENL. We expect Richard to offer a professional and considered approach to our international sales marketing plans given his proven skills in this area. I am confident he has the passion, energy, and experience to drive our global and local business forward.”
Mr Bowe says he is extremely excited about the opportunities ahead for ENL and he was attracted to WASSP as a strong and successful technology-based organisation.
“I am extremely excited about joining ENL Group, we have some amazing people and product, and whilst we have many challenges around the world currently, I am positive we can make a serious impact across all our business sectors globally,” said Mr Bowe.
“The opportunity to grow the WASSP brand in the global market is huge. From what I see, WASSP is very competitive and is leading the market. You only have to look at the numbers of systems being used by skippers internationally to see that.
“I am looking forward to being part of a very healthy business, with a strong brand and enormous further potential for growth.”
Furuno has a large presence in New Zealand and the South Pacific, with ENL being the exclusive distributor, providing sales and support to both the recreational market and commercial fishing industries.
“Investment in R&D, and making appointments such as Richard Bowe, further strengthens our position, and as the organisation focusses on building further international markets, of which is now more than 30.”
